Asaf Avidan Live Concert in London

One day baby…

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend to the Asaf Avidan Live concert due to his second album that took place at the well-known O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London.

Avidan is an Israeli singer-songwriter and musician born in Jerusalem on March the 23th in 1980. He also created and headed Asaf Avidan & the Mojos, an Israeli Folk-Rock band formed in 2006 in Jerusalem. However Asaf got his international reputation after its success with the song One Day. Ayer tuve la oportunidad de asistir en directo al concierto del segundo álbum de Asaf Avidan en el archiconocido O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire de Londres.

Avidan es un cantautor y músico israelí nacido en Jerusalén el 23 de marzo de 1980. Él es también quien creó y estuvo al frente de Asaf Avidan & the Mojos, una banda de Folk-Rock israelí formada en el 2006 en Jerusalén. (eng) His parents were diplomats from the Foreign Office of Israel, and as a consequence Asaf spent five years of his childhood in Jamaica.

After a mandatory military service in Israel, Avidan studied animation at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem and his short film final project “Find Love Now ” won its category in the Haifa Film Festival that year.

After his studies, Asaf moved to Tel Aviv and worked as an animator to a break with his longtime girlfriend. Since then he quit his job and decided to turn around his hobby, music. Six songs about the breakup and subsequent distress constitute their EP debut -Now That You’re Leaving-, which was released independently in 2006 with great success and good reviews.

In 2012 Asaf left the band The Mojos to devote himself to his solo career. In 2012 he launched -Avidan in a Box-, a live album with his old songs, that was digitally distributed only. He has also released an album with different rhythms of Israel that was released internationally in 2013, and recently he has just released its second album in english as a solo singer, the one I’ve been lucky enough to live and enjoy yesterday. Absolutely unforgettable. I’m still dancing …

(esp) Sus padres eran diplomáticos de la Oficina de Relaciones Exteriores de Israel, y pasó cinco años de su infancia en Jamaica.

Después del servicio militar obligatorio en Israel, Avidan estudió animación en la Academia Bezalel de Arte y Diseño de Jerusalén. Su cortometraje proyecto final “Find Love Now”, ganó su categoría en el Festival de Cine de Haifa ese año.

Después de sus estudios, Asaf se trasladó a Tel Aviv y trabajó como animador, hasta una ruptura con su novia de mucho tiempo sacudió su mundo y le hizo retroceder a Jerusalén, dejó su trabajo y decidió girar en torno a su mayor afición, la música. Seis canciones sobre esa ruptura y posterior angustia constituirían su EP debut, Now That You’re Leaving, que fue lanzado de manera independiente en el 2006 con gran éxito y buenas criticas.

A partir del 2012, Asaf dejó la banda The Mojos para dedicarse por completo a su carrera en solitario. En el 2012 lanzó Avidan in a Box, un álbum en directo que tiene antiguas canciones de él mismo, y que solamente se distribuyó por medios digitales. Finalmente sacó un álbum con diferentes ritmos de Israel que fue lanzado internacionalmente en el 2013, y recientemente acaba de lanzar su segundo disco en inglés como cantante en solitario que es el que tuve la suerte de poder vivir y disfrutar ayer. Absolutamente inolvidable. Aún estoy bailando…
