Every legend starts from the very beginning…
After years of observation, research, coolhunter’s data collection and finally after the approval by the world’s leading Trend Research agency WGSN; we can welcome a new generation of “players” who are blurring the lines between the street and the green (grass) and blue (sea).
By fusing the retro styles: surfer, skateboarder and golfer it has became a new and relaxed streetwear that breaks all the “rules”, especially in menswear, but that is also affecting womens fashion.
The fashion of the 70s is back, especially influenced by the aesthetics of the course of those years, mixed with the fascinating skater and surfer’s world. These two cultures are a real lifestyle to consider today, which was originated by the grunge aesthetic of the world known Z-boys. The Z-Boys, a name derived from Zephyr Competition Team, was a group of skaters led by Stacey Peralta, Jay Adams and Tony Alva -originating from Santa Monica and Venice Beach, California-, which in the 70s created the actual punk / skate subculture and they were also the first to skate an abandoned pool in Dogtown, one of the poorest areas in the west of Los Angeles.
Back then, skateboarding was not very well seen by American society, so these young Californians’ skaters and surfers were associated with poor street children. But over time, the three skaters managed to make a name in the sport’s history, being considered the most influential of modern skateboarding. Some of them, like Stacy Peralta, became major in the sports sector after patenting their own brand manufacturing tables, skater clothes and by sponsoring new emerging skaters.
The Z-Boys were the subject of worship and admiration for skateboard enthusiasts, even to be filmed documentaries and films about the group and its social and athletic impact. Examples include Dogtown and Z-Boys documentary directed by Peralta himself, and the 2005 film based on the life of the three guys, who even perform real cameos in the movie –Lords Of Dogtown-, together other famous people such as legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk and Johnny Knoxville showman.

Style: influenced by updated retro skater, surfer and golfer styles plus street subcultures, merged with fabrics and details of high performance. Details: Roll up on the sleeves, roll up jeans, contrast collars and micro details on garments. Fabrics: lightweight cotton with elasticity, comfortable and breathable fabrics and antibacterial sweaters with UV resistant properties. Pattern and Prints: Traditional Argyl reworked as micro patterns, unpretentious retro prints and also prints close to nature. Tras años de observación, investigación, recolección de datos de los ‘cazatendencias’ –como una servidora– y, finalmente, con la confirmación y beneplácito por parte de la agencia líder mundial de Investigación de Tendencias WGSN; damos la bienvenida a una nueva generación de “jugadores” que están borrando los límites entre la calle y el verde (hierba) y el azul (mar). Mediante la fusión de los estilos retro, surfer, skater y golfista se ha creado un nuevo streetwear relajado que rompe con todas las “reglas”, especialmente en moda masculina, pero que también está afectando a la moda para mujer.
La moda de los años 70 está volviendo, sobre todo influenciada por la estética del golf de aquellos años, mezclado con el fascinante mundo skater y surfista. Estas dos culturas son un auténtico estilo de vida a tener en cuenta hoy, que tuvo su origen con el aire estético grunge que tenían los mundialmente conocidos como Z-boys. Los Z-boys, nombre derivado de Zephyr Competition Team, era un grupo de skaters liderado por Stacey Peralta, Jay Adams y Tony Alva originarios de la zona de Santa Mónica y Venice Beach en California, que en los 70 crearon la subcultura punk/skate actual al ser los primeros en patinar una piscina abandonada de Dogtown, una de las áreas más pobres del oeste de Los Ángeles.
Por aquel entonces, el skate no estaba muy bien visto por la sociedad estadounidense, por lo que se asoció a estos jóvenes skaters y surfers californianos con chicos callejeros, pobres y sin salida (o sea, los ni-nis actuales). Pero con el tiempo, los tres skaters lograron hacerse un nombre en la historia del deporte, siendo considerados como los más influyentes del skateboard moderno. Algunos de ellos, como Stacy Peralta, se convirtieron en importantes empresarios del sector deportivo al patentar sus propias marcas de fabricación de tablas, ropa skater y patrocinar a los nuevos patinadores emergentes.
Los Z-Boys han sido objeto de culto y admiración por los amantes del skateboard, llegando incluso a ser filmados documentales y películas sobre el grupo y su impacto social y deportivo. Algunos ejemplos son el documental Dogtown and Z-Boys, dirigido por el propio Peralta, y la película de 2005 Lords Of Dogtown (Los Amos de Dogtown) basada en la vida de los tres chicos que incluso realizan cameos reales en el filme, junto a otros ilustres personajes como el legendario skater Tony Hawk o el showman Johnny Knoxville.
