Three years before Céline and Jil Sander presented luxury sack bags on the runway, LA-based stylist-turned-designer Beth Goodman pioneered the trend with her famed Picnic clutch. Inspired by a woman carrying a rolled-up paper lunch bag on the streets of Paris in the well-known neighbourhood Le Marais, Goodman dreamed up these clever accessories under her alter ego, Marie Turnor.Designer, Beth Goodman was born in New York with an innate ability to make things beautiful. After studying art in London and fashion design at Fashion Institute of Technology, Beth started a lingerie company which won awards and was featured in the likes of Vogue and W magazines. Finding a need for more space and sunshine, Beth accepted a design position in Los Angeles and went on to become a wardrobe stylist in the advertising, music, and film world where she became known for classic, timeless and chic choices for her clients who have included Cameron Diaz, kd lang, Halle Berry, Gwyneth Paltrow or Richard Gere.
After spending time in France preparing for a retail venture, Beth was again drawn to her love of making things and Marie Turnor was born in 2009.
